Stephen Roane, guitar & cello
A highly respected musician, Steve has performed and/or
recorded with such jazz luminaries as Frank Strozier,Eddie
Bert, Sir Roland Hanna, John Lewis, Jack Wilkins, Tal Far-
low, Diane Schuur, Richard Schindell and Carmen Leggio,
performing at Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, Lincoln Center,
and The Bottom Line. He has recorded and released 14
albums, and as a composer has written over 200 works,
including pieces for string and woodwind quartets, jazz
ensembles and modern dance. Steve teaches music privately and is on the faculty of the Community Music School in
Essex, Ct and the Music Conservatory of Westchester in
White Plains, NY. He also works as a landscape painter
and is an audio engineer. Steve lives in Madison, CT.
Russ Becker, clarinet & bass clarinet
A prominent instrumentalist, composer and teacher, Russ has
been an active musician on the Connecticut music scene for
many years. He has been a member of the Stamford Sym-
phony, the Hartford Civic Orchestra, Radio Piece 3, The
Bridgeport Industrial Saxophone Ensemble, Collectively
Speaking, The Bob Hughes Big Band, The Art Cellar Sax
Quartet, The Village Trio, and leader of the Russ Becker
Quartet. He has released four albums of his own and
recorded often as a sideman and studio musician. A prolific
composer, Russ’ music has been featured on WNET, local
and regional television and radio, and has been commissioned by theatre companies, churches, singers and instrumentalists.
Russ teaches privately at The Russ Becker Wood-
wind Studio in Clinton, Ct and at the Community Music
School in Essex, Ct. He lives in Clinton, Ct.
